Differential invariants of a Lie group action: syzygies on a generating set (Q1008571)

In this paper, the author characterize two generating sets of differential invariants on a group action. For one of them, it is exhibited a complete set of syzygies, e.g. a complete set of differential relationships. The other generating set is of bounded cardinality and a complete set of syzygies can be computed from the previous set using results of other author's work. The formalization of the notion of differential syzygies for a generation set of differential invariants (and its completeness) is achieved by reinterpreting the construction of normalized invariants and invariant derivations of \textit{M. Fels} and \textit{P. J. Olver} [Acta Appl. Math. 55, No.2, 127--208 (1999; Zbl 0937.53013)]. The results of the paper provide constructive tools for exploring algebras of differential invariants.
