The authors are concerned with the finite element approximation of the solutions of some semilinear elliptic interface problems. They introduce an iterative method, based on the Newton algorithm, in order to solve the discretized nonlinear algebraic equations. When the nonlinear terms involved in the system have a prescribed behaviour, the authors show the mesh independency as well as the superlinear convergence of the method.
