The author characterizes some situations when the product of symmetrizable spaces is symmetrizable. For instance, if \(X\) and \(Y\) are symmetrizable spaces having a point-countable \(cs\)-network, then \(X\times Y\) is symmetrizable iff either both \(X,Y\) are semi-metrizable or one of those spaces is locally compact semi-metrizable, or for each \((x,y)\in X\times Y\) closures of some balls around \(x\) and \(y\) are compact.
