Suppose \(\Omega \) is a Kähler class on an \(m\)-dimensional compact complex manifold \(M\) which admits an \(S^{1}\)-action and that \(\Omega =c_{1}\left( L\right)\), the first Chern class of a holomorphic \(S^{1}\) line bundle \(L\). The \(S^{1}\)-action is assumed to be not free and the set of fixed points \(M^{S^{1}}\equiv \left\{ x\in M| g\cdot x=x, \forall g\in S^{1}\right\} \) finite. The author obtains a necessary condition if \(\Omega \) contains a metric of constant scalar curvature. The author defines two vectors \(\overrightarrow{u}\) and \(\overrightarrow{v}\) associated with the representation space \(R\left( S^{1}\right) \) of the action on the tangent space \(T_{q_{j}}M\) and the action on the holomorphic line bundle \(L | _{q_{j}},\) respectively, on the fixed point set \(\left\{ q_{i} | i=1,\dots,r \right\} \). Let \(P=\left\{\text{ odd prime numbers } p | M^{\sigma _{p}}=M^{S^{1}}\right\} \) where \(\sigma _{p}\in S^{1}\) is the primitive \(p^{th}\) root of unity. The main result is that if \(\Omega =c_{1}\left( L\right) \) contains a Kähler metric of constant scalar curvature then the inner product \( \overrightarrow{u}\cdot \overrightarrow{v}\) is divisible by \(p,\) \(\forall p\in P\) such that \(p>m+1\). The result uses a fixed-point formula due to \textit{A. Futaki} and \textit{K. Tsuboi} [Math. Res. Lett. 8, No.4, 495--507 (2001; Zbl 1002.53025)]. The author gives two examples of the main result describing the \(S^{1}\)-actions and the fixed point sets, and a counterexample in the case where \(M\) does not admit a metric of constant scalar curvature.
