The authors develop a Poisson-Lie like generalization of the Kaszhdan-Kostant-Sternberg reduction yielding the trigonometric Ruijsenaars-Schneider relativistic integrable system. The commuting flows of this model are obtained by reducing canonical free flows of the Heisenberg double which are associated with a simple Lax matrix. A comparison with analogous results of the other authors is indicated.
