The authors study polynomial implicit differential algebraic equations using the framework of differential algebra. They assume throughout that the equation is quasi-regular with respect to some associated minimal prime ideal. The main results are a priori bounds on the differentiation index, the order, and the Hilbert-Kolchin regularity of the equation. Furthermore, they provide an effective ideal membership test and prove an existence and uniqueness theorem for analytic solutions in the neighbourhood of regular points.
