The Helmholtz equation \(\Delta u + \kappa^2 u =f\), where \(\kappa\) is a complex number with \(Im(\kappa) \geq 0\), is considered in a bounded domain of \(\mathbb R^s\) with \(s \geq 2\). The paper is concerned with the approximation using radial bases of a particular solution of the Helmholtz equation given by a potential integral. The main result provides also the order of convergence of the proposed method. Some examples are given in \(\mathbb R^2\) and \(\mathbb R^3\) for compactly supported radial bases.
