First of all the author introduces hyperinterpolation operators on a general domain and particularize them for 3D cubes and spheres. Then he provides convergence results for the method of fundamental solutions (MFS) applied to the Helmholtz equation. With these two ingredients he constructs particular solutions to modified Helmholtz equations and derives the rate of convergence of the MFS in solving non-homogeneous boundary value problems. Some numerical solutions are carried out in order to underline the efficiency of the method.
