In this interesting paper, the authors study first the existence of at least one, two and multiple fixed points for the integral equation \[ A(u(t))=\int_0^1G(t,s)f(s,u(s))ds \] in Banach spaces. It is remarkable that this work gives a unified approach applicable to many boundary value problems. Then, using these results the authors discuss the existence of one, two or multiple positive solutions for the \((k, n-k)\) conjugate boundary value problem \[ \begin{aligned} &(-1)^{n-k}u^{(n)}(t)=f(t,u(t)),\quad t\in [0,1]\\ &u^{(i)}(0)=u^{(i)}(1)=\theta, \quad 0\leq i\leq k-1,\,\, 0\leq j\leq n-k-1 \end{aligned} \] in a real Banach space. The arguments are based on fixed point theory in a cone for strict set contraction arguments.
