    Under some assumptions the singular boundary value problem \[ (-1)^{n- p} y^{(n)}= \phi(t) f(t,y),\quad 0< t< 1,\quad y^{(i)}(0)= 0, \] \[ 0\leq i\leq p-1,\quad y^{(i)}(1)= 0,\quad 0\leq i\leq n- p-1, \] where \(n\geq 2\) and the nonlinearity \(f\) may be singular at \(y= 0\) is solved by means of the Leray-Schauder alternative and some a priori estimates for solutions to related problems.
