The authors perform free vibration analysis of circular plates under different boundary conditions by means of the differential transformation method (DTM). The DTM is based on the Taylor series expansion and allows to change from differential to integro-differential equations by recurrence relations; additionally, the boundary conditions can be transformed into a set of algebraic equations. The results are verified by comparison with Bessel function solutions and numerical solutions. As the authors state, the DTM is a reliable, fast converging and robust method for eigenvalue analysis of circular plates.
