The main result of the paper shows that Morita equivalent simple finitely generated algebras have the same filter dimension in the sense of the first author [\textit{V. Bavula}, Commun. Algebra 24, No. 6, 1971-1992 (1996; Zbl 0855.16005)]. For an algebra \(A\) its holonomic number \(h_A\) is the infimum of the Gelfand-Kirillov dimensions of nonzero finitely generated \(A\)-modules. Holonomic numbers of Morita equivalent algebras are the same. Some relations between filter, Gelfand-Kirillov dimensions and holonomic numbers are established. There are given several applications of these results.
