This is the second edition of a clearly written book, being really close to applied optimization in economic fields. Compared with the first edition there are only few changes (e.g. with respect to complexity at the beginning of chapter 5, to optimization in networks in section 6.1 or to vehicle routing in section 8.2), additional references and renewed hints with respect to given online addresses. The review Zbl 1111.90004 concerning the first edition is suitable also for this edition.
