In the recent papers [\textit{C. Manolescu, P. S. Ozsváth}, and \textit{S. Sarkar}, Ann. Math. (2) 169, No.~2, 633--660 (2009; Zbl 1179.57022)], [\textit{C. Manolescu, P. Ozsváth, Z. Wang}, ``A combinatorial description of some Heegaard Floer homologies'', \url{arXiv:math.GT/0607777}], combinatorial treatments of Heegaard Floer homologies were developed. In his previous paper [``Heegaard Floer homology and splicing knot complements'', \url{arXiv:math.GT/0802.3623}], the author used this combinatorial work to develop a splicing formula. In the paper reviewed here, the author uses the formula from his previous paper to develop a Dehn surgery formula for the groups \(\hat{HF}(Y_{p/q}(K),\mathbb Z/2 \mathbb Z)\), where \(Y_{p/q}\) is the result of \(p/q\)-Dehn surgery on a knot \(K\) in an integral homology sphere \(Y\). The resulting homology complex is a direct sum of several copies (depending on \(p\) and \(q\)) of the manifolds resulting from trivial surgery, 0-surgery, and 1-surgery. Differentials are determined, but gradings and decompositions by Spin\(^c\)-structure are left for future research.
