The author extends several classical theorems in functional analysis to (i) operators on Banach spaces over quaternions or over octonions, and (ii) to Banach \({}^\ast\)-algebras over quaternions or over octonions, respectively. Since quaternions are noncommutative and octonions nonassociative, the usual definition of a linear operator is replaced by a quasi-linear operator, that is defined as being additive and homogeneous over the field of real numbers. The complete list of theorems considered in the article would be too long to be given here, but it includes, to name but a few: \(\bullet\) The Hahn-Banach theorems (also regarded by \textit{J. L. Lewis} [Acta Math. Hung. 52, No. 3/4, 249--253 (1988; Zbl 0675.46039)]). \(\bullet\) The Holomorphic Calculus and Spectral Mapping Theorem. \(\bullet\) Functional calculus for normal operators and unbounded selfadjoint operators on a Hilbert space. \(\bullet\) Gelfand-Neumark representation of \(C^\ast\)-algebras. \(\bullet\) The Von Neumann Double Commutant Theorem.
