Krall-type orthogonal polynomials in several variables (Q1044646)

Let \(u\) be a quasi-definite moment functional defined on \(\Pi^d\) (the space of polynomials in \(d\)-variables). The authors define a new moment functional \(v\) as a perturbation of \(u\), by adding a Dirac mass to \(u\), give necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of orthogonal polynomials with respect to \(v\) and express them in terms of orthogonal polynomials with respect to \(u\). The case of one variable and for special cases of perturbation has been studied by \textit{V. B. Uvarov} [Zh. Vychisl. Mat. Mat. Fiz. 9, 1253--1262 (1969; Zbl 0191.36702)] and \textit{A. M. Krall} [Proc. R. Soc. Edinb., Sect. A 87, 271--288 (1981; Zbl 0453.33006)] and extensively by many authors in recent years.
