On the regularity of global attractors (Q1045776)

The purpose of this paper is to give a new technique to establish the boundedness for global attractors of dissipative dynamical systems, without appealing to uniform-in-time estimates. In fact, the authors prove the existence of an exponential attractor for nonlinear semigroups \(S(t)\), \( t\geq 0\), of closed operators on Banach spaces such that \(S(t)\), \(t\geq 0\), has an absorbing set. An application is given for the semilinear strongly damped wave equation with critical nonlinearity.
