An application of mirror extensions (Q1048039)

\textit{A. N. Schellekens} [Commun. Math. Phys. 153, No. 1, 159--185 (1993; Zbl 0782.17014)] constructed holomorphic modular invariants of central charge 24. In this article it is examined whether mirror extensions can provide chiral rational conformal field theories (RCFT) realizations of them. The main result is that three of Schellekens' modular invariants can be realized by holomorphic conformal nets. The nets are constructed by simple current extensions of mirror extensions. The paper closes with two conjectures about uniqueness and finite number respectively of certain conformal nets with central charge 24.
