The authors investigate the one-dimensional countable state \(p\)-adic Potts model. It should be noted that since the 1980s various models were described in the language of \(p\)-adic analysis due to the assumption that \(p\)-adic numbers provide a more exact and adequate description of microworld phenomena. This approach in some cases cannot be used based on ordinary Kolmogorov probability theory, thus an abstract \(p\)-adic probability theory was developed by means of the theory of non-Archimedean measures. Such an approach allows us to construct wide classes of stochastic processes using finite-dimensional probability distributions together with the development of statistical mechanics in the context of \(p\)-adic theory. In this theory a very important problem is the study of infinite-volume Gibbs measures corresponding to a given Hamiltonian. In most cases an analysis depends on specific properties of a Hamiltonian and a complete description is usually a quite difficult. In the paper there are developed \(p\)-adic theory approaches to study of one-dimensional countable state nearest-neighbor Potts models. The construction of \(p\)-adic Gibbs measures is also presented because such measures present more natural concrete examples of \(p\)-adic Markov processes. The paper consists of 4 sections. A Section 2 presents preliminaries, where the definitions of the \(p\)-adic logarithm and \(p\)-adic exponential are given. In Section 3 we have the introduced model and the definitions of generalized and (\textit{not generalized}) \(p\)-adic Gibbs measures. They depend on a weight \(\lambda\) and sufficient conditions for their existence are given (basing on Dobrushin's theorem). As a conclusion in this Section we have the remark that under the condition \(\lambda(k) =0\) for all \(k\geq q\), \(q>1\), where \(q\) is a finite number of states and \(k\) represents the successive states, all Gibbs measures corresponding to the countable Potts model are described by Gibbs measures of the \(q\)-state Potts model. In section 4 there was established a generalized \(p\)-adic Gibbs measure for the model under some condition on the weight \(\lambda\). The conditions do not depend on the values of the prime \(p\), and therefore an analogous fact is not true when the number of spins is finite.
