A triangulation of a surface is said to be akempic if it has a 4-coloring such that no two adjacent triangles have the same three colors, and this 4-coloring is not Kempe equivalent to any other 4-coloring. The akempic triangulations of the 2-sphere with 4 vertices of degree 3, which are characterized in another paper by the same author [Discrete Math. 54, 23- 29 (1985; Zbl 0572.05026)], are enumerated.
