The authors consider a singularly perturbed system of ordinary differential equations with a reduced system having a unique, asymptotically stable equilibrium point. Sufficient conditions are given under which the solution is contained in a ball centered at this equilibrium point (with a ''small'' radius when the singular parameter is ''small''), except for some initial time interval [0,T]. The results are applied to the design of control systems with desired right-hand sides. A practically meaningful example and some computational results are presented.
