This paper exhibits some old and some new ideas that have been formulated over the last ten years while new mathematical theories, involving fuzzy sets, emerged everywhere. Some of the thoughts in this paper are far reaching because they question the fundamentals of the way in which we use fuzzy sets in mathematics.
