Codes which are ideals in the algebra \(A=\mathbb F_ q[X_ 1,\ldots,X_ n]/(X_ 1^{q_ 1e_ 1}-1,\ldots,X_ n^{q_ ne_ n}-1)\), \(q=p^ r\), \(p\) a prime, \((e_ i,p)=1\) and \(q_ i\) is a power of \(p\), \(1\leq i\leq n\) and \(q_ 1\leq\ldots\leq q_ n\). It is shown that \(A\) is ring isomorphic to a Cartesian product of algebras \(D\) of the type \(D=\mathbb F'_ q[Z_ 1,\ldots,Z_ n]/(Z_ 1^{q_ 1},\ldots,Z_ n^{q_ n})\) where \(\mathbb F'_ q\) is an extension of \(\mathbb F_ q\) which depends on \(D\). A decomposition of \(A\) into a direct sum of principal ideals is given as well as a simple construction for primitive idempotents in \(A\). An isomorphism is established which allows the construction of codes in \(A\) from ideals in \(D\).
