The present work deals with the numerical investigation of the turbulent flow-field at the stern of a body of revolution. The corresponding fully elliptic Reynolds equations are discretized according to the finite volume approximation and are solved by a method similar to the partially parabolic approach. The Reynolds stresses are modelled according to three eddy viscosity models in order to investigate the influence of turbulence modelling on the numerical solution. Special emphasis is given to the near-wall treatment, where a direct solution of the momentum equations is applied instead of the traditional wall functions. Calculated results are compared to experimental results for a body of revolution.
