Let M be a Möbius strip, f be a continuous flow on M tangent to the boundary, and without fixed points. The author proves (Sec. 1, Th. 1,2) that: I. M is divided by orbits of f into several regions (called ``normal''); each of them belongs to one of the six types defined at the beginning of the paper (Def. 1). II. There is exactly one periodic orbit of f representing the operator of the fundamental group \(\pi_ 1(M)\), and the others (at least on the boundary) must be 2-periodic. The second section is devoted to the Kneser theorem in an essentially improved version. Then using the results of Sec. 1 the author gives classification theorems for M and the Klein bottle improving known results of the theory. The last Sec. 3 presents some applications including flows on a torus.
