A polynomial LQG approach for designing feedforward regulators is presented and scalar discrete-time systems are considered. Given a linear system and possibly a prespecified feedback, optimal feedforward filters for non-minimum phase systems can be calculated in a simple way. The main output feedback is optimized with respect to unmeasurable disturbances and the feedforward link is optimized with respect to the measurable disturbance.
