Invariant sublattices in a certain Cartan subalgebra (Q1112937)

The author considers positive definite integral lattices in the simple Lie algebra \(A_{p-1}\) (p is a prime) which are invariant with respect to automorphisms of orthogonal decompositions of \(A_{p-1}\). Let H be a Cartan subalgebra in an orthogonal decomposition of \(A_{p-1}\). A projection of a lattice onto H leads to a sublattice on H. There are p-1 nondivisible invariant sublattices on H. The aim of the paper is to prove a theorem which gives a complete description of these sublattices. There are two possibilities for them. One possibility is \({\mathbb{Z}}_ 2\times PGL(2,p)\).
