    A stability analysis of the system \[ \dot x(t)=x(t)(x_ t+\mu (y(t)- x(t))),\quad \dot y(t)(y_ t+\mu (x(t)-y(t))) \] is presented, where \(x_ t=r(1-ax(t)-b\alpha^ 2\int^{t}_{-\infty}(t-s)e^{-\alpha (t- s)}x(s)ds)\), the parameters r, b, \(\alpha\), \(\mu\) are positive and \(a\geq 0\). It is shown that if \(b>8a\) then there exists \(\alpha =\alpha^*>0\) such that synchronous oscillations appear through a Hopf bifurcation.
