Let \(W=W(3,2,r)\) be a 3-web of codimension r given on a (2r)-dimensional manifold by three foliations of codimension r. The first author [see Tr. Geom. Semin. 2, 7-31 (1969; Zbl 0244.53014)] studied 2-dimensional 3- subwebs of W. In the paper under review the authors generalize this concept introducing 3-subwebs \(\tilde W=W(3,2,s)\) of dimension s, \(0<s<r\). It is proved that the Grassmann webs W have a maximal set of such subwebs. A coordinate loop is associated with the web W. The loop multiplication allows to define a series of operations of arity k, \(k=2,3,4..\). in the tangent vector spaces \(T_ e\) of this loop at the identity e. The space \(T_ e\) with these operations of arity \(h\leq k\) is called a local \(W_ k\)-algebra of the web W. The local \(W_ 3\)-algebras were introduced and studied by the first author [see Sib. Math. J. 17, 3-8 (1976); translation from Sib. Mat. Zh. 17, 5-11 (1976; Zbl 0337.53018)] who called them W-algebras. (Note that \textit{K. H. Hofmann} and \textit{K. Strambach} in Pac. J. Math. 123, 301-327 (1986; Zbl 0596.22002)] named them Akivis algebras.) It is proved that the \(\tilde W_ k\)-algebra, \(k\geq 3\), associated with a subweb \(\tilde W\) of W is a subalgebra of the \(W_ k\)-algebra associated with W. Isoclinic and Grassmann 3-webs W are characterized in terms of these algebras: \(W_ 2\)-algebras of the first and \(W_ 3\)-algebras of the second are of a special kind (almost trivial).
