The decomposition numbers of the symplectic group \(\text{SP}(4,q)\), \(q=p^n\), \(p\) prime, in characteristic other than \(p\) were determined by \textit{D. L. White} [J. Algebra 132, No. 2, 488-500 (1990; Zbl 0705.20010); ibid. 177, No. 1, 264-276 (1995; Zbl 0845.20008)] with one ambiguity concerning the principal block. The author of the present paper removes this ambiguity by imposing some conditions on the structure of \(\text{SP}(4,q)\).
