This article throws a new light on the life and works of Charles S. Peirce. In this paper the learned author discusses mainly the following two topics. 1. How Charles S. Peirce developed a semiotic pattern of mathematical procedure with which to test validity in all areas of investigation. 2. Why and how Charles S. Peirce became the greatest native philosopher of mathematics and science ever to appear on the American scene. The learned author's discussion is attractive and helpful to those who are going to study history of mathematics.
