A nest \({\mathcal N}\) in a Hilbert space \({\mathcal H}\) is a complete totally ordered set of orthogonal projections. For example, let \(\{e_ n\}^ \infty_{n=0}\) be an orthonormal basis for \({\mathcal H}\) and form \(P_ n=\text{span} \{e_ 0,\dots, e_ n\}\), \(n\geq 0\). Then \({\mathcal P}=\{P_ n\), \(n\geq 0,{\mathcal H}\}\) is a nest. The nest algebra \({\mathcal T}({\mathcal N})\) is defined to be the set of all operators \(A\) on \({\mathcal H}\) satisfying \(N^ \perp AN=0\), \(N\in {\mathcal N}\). In the present paper the author surveys some of the most important problems regarding reflexive algebras with CSL properties. Several problems of interest are posed and the progress towards their solutions are pointed out. The article contains an extensive bibliography among them \textit{W. B. Arvesons's} article [Ann. Math., II. Ser. 100, 433-532 (1974; Zbl 0334.46070)], \textit{A. Hopenwasser} [Pac. J. Math. 65, 375-392 (1976; Zbl 0321.46054)], \textit{A. Hopenwasser} and \textit{D. R. Larson} [Pac. J.
