In Adv. Math. 61, 267-304 (1986; Zbl 0608.14004), \textit{S. Bloch} introduced Chow groups of codimension \(p\) cycles for any quasiprojective scheme over some base scheme \(S\). In the case of an affine scheme \(X\), these groups are determined by the homology of the complex of free abelian groups \(z^ p(X,^*)\) generated by codimension \(p\) subvarieties of \(X\times\Delta^ i\) which intersect all the faces \(\Delta^{i-1}\) transversally. \(z^ p(X,*)\) contains a subcomplex, the affine Grassmannian homology complex. --- In Duke Math. J. 54, 679-710 (1987; Zbl 0632.14010), \textit{A. Beilinson}, \textit{R. MacPherson} and \textit{K. Schechtman} conjectured that this inclusion of chain complexes induces an isomorphism of homology groups. In this paper the author shows that this conjecture is not true. He studies the map between homology groups. He shows that it is a surjection for all codimension \(p\geq 0\) cycles and in particular that it fails to be an isomorphism for codimension \(p=2\) cycles.
