Developing her previous investigations on Orlicz-Lorentz spaces \(\Lambda_{\varphi,w}(0,\infty)\) the author shows that uniform convexity of the latter is equivalent to the following conditions on \(\varphi\) and \(w\): {(i). } The convex function \(\varphi\) must be uniformly convex and satisfying \(\Delta_ 2\)-condition on \([0,\infty)\). {(ii). } The weight function \(w\) (which is non-increasing and locally integrable) must be non-integrable on \([0,\infty)\) and satisfying the following requirements: (*) There exists \(k>1\) such that \(\psi(2t)/\psi(t)\geq k\) for all \(t>0\) where \(\psi(t)=\int^ t_ 0 w(x)dx\), \(t\geq 0\). (Recall that Orlicz-Lorentz space \(\Lambda_{\varphi,w}\) is defined as the set of Lebesgue measurable functions \(f\) such that \(\int\varphi(\lambda f^*)(x)w(x)dx<\infty\) for a suitable \(\lambda=\lambda(f)>0\) where \(f^*\) is the non-increasing rearrangement of the function \(| f|\)). Reviewer's Remark. Condition (*) is well-known in the literature as \(\liminf_{t\rightarrow 0}{\psi(2t)\over \psi(t)} >1\) and may be expressed in terms of Boyd indices [c.f. \textit{S. G. Krein}, \textit{Yu. I. Petunin}, \textit{E. M. Semenov}, Interpolation of Linear Operators, Nauka, Moscow (1978); English: Translations of Mathematical Monographs 54 (1982; Zbl 0493.46058)].
