Let \(R\) be any commutative ring and let \(F\) be any finitely generated free \(R\)-module. A \(K\)-filtration (resp. \(L\)-filtration) is, by definition, a GL\((F)\)-filtration whose associated graded object is a sum of co-Schur (resp. Schur) functors, and it is valid over every commutative ring \(R\). In their paper [Adv. Math. 67, 143-173 (1988; Zbl 0659.20034)], \textit{M. Barnabei} and \textit{A. Brini} give an explicit construction of a \(K\)-filtration for the tensor product of two co-Schur functors \(K_ \alpha F\) and \(K_ \beta F\). In the paper under review, the author generalizes this by proving that the approach of [loc. cit.], with minor modifications, also allows the explicit construction of a \(K\)- filtration for the skew co-Schur functor \(K_{\lambda/\mu} F\). Note that a \(K\)-filtration for \(K_{\lambda/\mu}F\) has already been given by \textit{F. Kouwenhoven} in this thesis [Universal operations in the representation theory of groups, Thesis, Utrecht (1986)], but with different methods. Kouwenhoven also gives an \(L\)-filtration for its dual, the skew Schur functor in that paper.
