Characteristic-free decomposition of skew Schur functors (Q804704)

A characteristic-free filtration of the skew Schur functor, denoted \(L_{\lambda /\mu}\) by \textit{K. Akin, D. A. Buchsbaum} and \textit{J. Weyman} [Adv. Math. 44, 207-278 (1982; Zbl 0497.15020)] is produced. This is a generalization of the Littlewood-Richardson rule, but as the author remarks in a note added in proof, this was already gained by \textit{F. Kouwenhoven} [Universal operations in the representation theory of groups (Thesis, Utrecht 1986)] using different methods. The example 1.1, explaining the combinatorial rule for the multiplicities, is erroneous, the partitions in the text and those depicted do not coincide.
