The concept of a fuzzy semiprimary ideal of an ordinary ring is introduced as a straightforward generalization of a semiprimary ideal in classical ring theory, using characteristic mappings. This new concept is illustrated by means of several nontrivial examples. The difference between the concepts fuzzy semiprimary ideal and fuzzy primary ideal has been pointed out using fuzzy cosets. Finally the algebraic nature of fuzzy images of fuzzy semiprimary ideals under a surjective homomorphism is studied.
