This paper studies the balance laws of mass, energy and entropy of systems containing two phases and in each phase the same chemically different constituents. Particularly the interface balances are developed and the importance of interfacial quantities is discussed. As this mechanical equilibrium of the system is presumed, more over deformation is neglected. The only motions considered are the motion of the phase boundary and that of the edge of an arbitrary moving control area contained in the interface. Although many references are quoted, comparisons with related papers as those of \textit{T. Alts} and \textit{K. Hutter} [J. Non-Equilibrium Thermodyn. 13, No. 3, 221-280 (1988; Zbl 0671.73003)] and \textit{D. Bedeaux} [Lect. Notes Physics 253, 85-118 (1986; Zbl 0605.76108)] are not executed.
