The author introduces the notion of generic subvariety \(S\) with respect to a system \(M\) of differential equations (= the non-characteristic variety in usual terminology), and gives the relation between various kinds of microfunction solutions of \(M\) and those of the induced system \(M^ b\) on \(S\). When \(M\) is the Cauchy-Riemann system, the present result can be applied to regain results of D'Agnolo-D'Ancona-Zampieri, hence some results on the extension of holomorphic functions.
