In general, applying the classical collocation method to a Cauchy-type singular integral equation on an interval, the nodes and the weights of the Gaussian quadrature rules can be evaluated only approximately. The author puts and answers the question how precise the nodes and weights must be evaluated to maintain the convergence and the convergence estimates of the method established by himself and \textit{P. Junghans} [On pointwise convergence of classical collocation method for Cauchy-type singular integral equations. SIAM J. Numer. Anal. (to appear)].
