Residues of the eta function for an operator of Dirac type (Q1196573)

This is a rather detailed presentation primarily devoted to the computation of the asymptotics to \(Tr_{L^ 2}(Pe^{-tP^ 2})\) where \(P\) is a first order operator of Dirac type, which is equivalent to evaluating the residues of eta function. After a detailed introduction the authors study the Clifford Modules and consider the Heat Equation asymptotics for manifolds without boundary. Then the regularity of eta function is investigated in connection with the index theorem. Examples and applications are under consideration in the last section.
