Let \(\widehat{H} = H(q, -i\hbar \partial/\partial q)\) be a family of Weil pseudodifferential operators in \(\mathbb{R}^ n\) depending on \(\hbar \in (0,1]\), with a real smooth symbol \(H(q,p)\) such that \(H(q,p)\) itself and all its derivatives grow at infinity as a polynomial. The quasimodes of \(\widehat{H}\) are the functions \(\Psi = \Psi_ \hbar(q)\) satisfying the following relations (in the \(L^ 2(\mathbb{R}^ n)\) norm): \(\| \Psi\| \geq \delta > 0\), \(\| \widehat{H} \Psi\| = o(\hbar)\), for a certain sequence \(\hbar \to 0\). It is well known how to construct quasimodes using the canonical operator of \textit{V. P. Maslov} [Theory of perturbations and asymptotic methods, Moskov. Gos. Univ., Moscow (1965)]. In this paper the authors show how quasimodes are generated by characters of a dynamical group of the Hamiltonian \(H\).
