Simplicial arrangements associated with the 24-cell (Q1201929)

An arrangement of hyperplanes in 4-dimensional projective space can be constructed from the 24 face hyperplanes of the regular 24-cell, a subset of its 24 hyperplanes of symmetry, and possibly the hyperplane at infinity. The author shows here that the only such arrangement which is simplicial (that is, its maximal cells are all simplices) uses all 49 of these hyperplanes. Two of the simplicial 3-arrangements induced by this arrangement were previously unknown. There is just one other known simplicial 4-arrangement which does not lie in a natural sequence of such in each dimension.
