    Boundary value problems \[ \sum^N_{i = 1} \nabla_i \bigl( |\nabla u |^{p - 2} \nabla_i u \bigr) + |u |^{p^* - 2} u + \lambda |u |^{q - 2} u = 0 \text{ on } \Omega, \quad u = 0 \text{ in } \partial \Omega \] with \(p,q > 0\) are studied. Here \(\Omega\) is a bounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^N\), \(N > p\), \(p^* = Np/(N - p)\). It is supposed that \(\partial \Omega\) satisfies a symmetry condition and that \(p^* > q \geq p\) or \(p^* > q > p {pN - 2N + p \over (N - p) (p - 1)}\) if \(N \geq p^2\) or \(N < p^2\), respectively. It is shown that if \(q \neq p\), \(\lambda > 0\) or \(q = p\), \(\inf\{|\nabla u |^p_p/ |u |^p_p \mid u\in W^{1,0}_p \setminus \{0\}\} > \lambda > 0\) then there exist at least \((2N + 2)\) nontrivial solutions.
