This article presents an algorithm for the computation of branches of heteroclinic orbits for a system of autonomous ordinary differential equations. The idea is to rewrite the original problem as a boundary value problem on a finite interval where the boundary conditions are obtained by a detailed analysis of the solution near the critical point. Higher-order approximations of the unstable and stable manifolds are used for this purpose. The proposed algorithm is then applied to a model problem: the DC Josephson Junction.
