Numerical analysis and accurate computation of heteroclinic orbits in the case of center manifolds (Q1209573)

In a preceding paper by the first author and \textit{E. J. Doedel} [ibid. 37-57 (1993; Zbl 0770.34033)] an algorithm is presented for the computation of branches of heteroclinic orbits for a system of autonomous ordinary differential equations. Here, a rigorous numerical analysis of this method is presented and error estimates are derived. Furthermore, the numerical method and its analysis are extended to the case of center manifolds. An example (the DC Josephson Junction equations) is discussed in some detail.
