The book presents the mathematical tools underlying various algorithms for measurement association and multitarget tracking. These tools rely on techniques of system theory that utilize the state-space model of linear and nonlinear dynamic systems and statistical techniques of estimation and hypothesis testing. The material deals mainly with information processing consisting of data association and state estimation varying from simple parameter estimation through the Kalman filter; manoeuvering targets, multiple targets in clutter.
