The relationship between Hamiltonian and Lagrangian control systems are discussed. Quantum mechanical control systems are formulated by quantizing Hamiltonian control systems. The problem of constructing suitable Lagrangian for a given differential system is considered. This leads to a generalization of the Helmholtz conditions for the inverse problem in classical mechanics. Several examples illustrate the principles.
