On the generators of quantum stochastic flows (Q1269522)

The main results of the paper were first announced in a conference paper [the authors, in: Stochastic analysis and applications, 315-329 (1996)]. The authors give detailed proofs of the theorems on the existence and uniqueness of the solutions of the quantum stochastic differential equation \(dk_t=k_t\circ\theta^\alpha_\beta d\Lambda^\beta_\alpha(t)\) and on necessary and sufficient conditions on \(\theta\) for the positivity and contractivity of the solutions. The main techniques used are the representation of solutions in terms of the semigroups on the algebra whose generator is a linear combination of the \(\theta^\alpha_\beta\) and then the related semigroup analysis [cf. \textit{G. Lindblad}, Commun. Math. Phys. 48, 119-130 (1976; Zbl 0343.47031)].
