Let \(G\) be a connected real semisimple Lie group of rank one with finite center and \(K\) a maximal compact subgroup. A function is said to be harmonic on \(G/K\) if it is annihilated by all \(G\)-invariant differential operators without constant term. Let \(\mu\) be a measure on \(G\) that is bi-invariant under \(K\) with \(\mu(G)=1\). If a function \(u\) is harmonic then it is also \(\mu\)-harmonic, i.e. a solution to the equation \(f*\mu=f\). The interest here is to study the converse, under what conditions on \(\mu\) and \(f\) does \(\mu\)-harmonicity imply harmonicity. The authors generalize results of \textit{P. Ahern, A. Flores} and \textit{W. Rudin} [J. Funct. Anal. 111, No. 2, 380-397 (1993; Zbl 0771.32006)] and \textit{A. Korányi} [Contemp. Math 191, 107-116 (1995; Zbl 0843.22017)], they prove sufficient conditions for a finite set of radial measures \(\mu_i\) on a rank one symmetric space for which \(f*\mu_i\) implies that\(f\) is harmonic.
